Uzbekistan Takes Second at U17 Asian Wrestling Champs

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Uzbekistan U17 Greco-Roman wrestling team finished second in the overall team standings at the U17 Asian Wrestling Championships held in Vietnam.

On the latest day of competition, Uzbek athletes in Greco-Roman and women’s wrestling secured five medals in total — one gold, one silver and three bronze.

Abduaziz Kholmirzaev became the Asian champion in the under-80 kg category. Sardor Makhmudov won the silver medal in the under-65 kg division.

Bronze medals were claimed by Kodirjon Fozilov (under-71 kg), Zaytuna Saparova (under-40 kg) and Siysagul Sarsenbaeva (under-61 kg).

As a result, the Uzbekistan Greco-Roman wrestling team accumulated 161 points and secured second place in the team rankings.

Iran finished in first place.
