Afghan Delegation Joins Namangan Flower Festival
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — An Afghan delegation has taken part in the 65th International Flower Festival, which opened on 24 May in Namangan, Uzbekistan. The event also includes forums, fashion weeks and trade fairs.
The Afghan delegation was officially invited to participate in the opening ceremony and related events. It is led by Ariyanom Azizi, Deputy Director for Investments at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Delegation members view the visit as an opportunity to present Afghanistan’s products and economic potential, as well as to expand trade ties with other participating countries.
The participation is also expected to help develop new contacts between Afghanistan’s private sector and regional investors.
At exhibition venues, Afghanistan is showcasing flowers, agricultural products and handicrafts.
The festival will run until 12 July. Organizers expect around 1 million international visitors and about 7 million local tourists.
It is also noted that Namangan has been included in the Guinness World Records for large-scale flower planting activities.
