Tashkent Hosts Central Asia Drift Cup Stage
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The capital of Uzbekistan has launched a stage of the Open Central Asia Drift Cup, bringing together top drivers from the region and guests from abroad.
The event is being held at the CAEx exhibition complex, where spectators witnessed a high-intensity automotive show combining professional motorsport, modern technologies and competitive racing.
The opening ceremony was attended by Uzbekistan’s Minister of Sport Adkham Ikramov, Secretary General of the National Olympic Committee Oybek Kasimov, as well as representatives of the National Motor Sport and Karting Federation of Uzbekistan.
A total of 28 cars took part in the competition, representing Uzbekistan, Latvia, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Japan.
In addition to drift competitions, the sports program also includes a stage of the digital motorsport championship eSports GT3 Championship, making the tournament a unique platform for both traditional and virtual racing.
Addressing participants and guests, officials highlighted the rapid development of motorsport in the country, growing youth interest in technical sports and expanding international cooperation in this field.
The tournament is being held in accordance with Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) regulations, ensuring a high level of organization and officiating. Following the traditional drivers’ parade, the final races were officially started.
The competition will run until 31 May and is expected to become one of the highlights of the sporting calendar, attracting both motorsport fans and general audiences.
