Tashkent Flower Festival Showcases 2 Million Plants
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A flower festival is taking place in the capital, featuring floral installations and landscaped recreational areas for visitors across multiple urban sites. The event is accompanied by expanded infrastructure and strengthened public safety measures.
A total of 2 million flowers have been used to create decorative compositions across the festival grounds. More than 20 plant species in nine color shades are on display, alongside the planting of 18,000 shrubs. The spaces have been designed as themed zones for walking and photography.
Thirty-five units of special equipment and 2,000 landscaping and maintenance workers have been deployed to support the site’s operation and upkeep. More than 300 volunteers are also involved, assisting visitors and managing crowd flow.
Twelve food service points and more than 80 photo zones have been organized for guests. The infrastructure is designed to accommodate large numbers of visitors throughout the festival period.
Public order is being maintained by law enforcement agencies. The deployment includes 200 internal affairs officers, 156 National Guard personnel, 12 mounted officers, and four dog handlers with service animals.
