Japan Embassy Reports Deportation of Uzbek National
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Embassy of Japan in Uzbekistan has reported the deportation of a citizen of Uzbekistan who remained in Japan illegally after the expiration of a short-term visa.
According to the diplomatic mission, the individual entered Japan on a short-term visa but did not leave the country after the permitted period of stay expired and was subsequently detained by Japanese authorities.
The embassy stressed that in cases of illegal stay or unlawful employment, strict measures are applied, including detention and arrest by police, placement in immigration detention facilities, and subsequent deportation.
It was also noted that Japanese authorities share information on violators with the government of Uzbekistan, after which appropriate measures may be taken upon their return.
The statement also addressed common misconceptions regarding the possibility of long-term stay or employment in Japan through asylum applications. It emphasized that submitting such applications for the purpose of illegal residence is not permitted.
In cases where refugee status is denied, individuals may be placed in immigration detention or deported. The misuse of false information or fraudulent schemes in applications may also lead to serious legal consequences.
