Uzbekistan and the EEC sign joint action plan for 2024–2026

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan and the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) plan to deepen cooperation in areas such as customs and technical regulation, economy, finance, and other sectors.

On 1 October, during the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council meeting in Yerevan, Uzbekistan’s Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov and the Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission, Bakytzhan Sagintayev, signed a joint action plan for 2024–2026 between the EEC and the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The plan aims to enhance cooperation in various areas, including customs and technical regulation, economy, finance, trade policy, competition and antimonopoly regulation, public procurement, industry, agro-industrial complex, energy, transport, informatization, and macroeconomics. Important aspects of cooperation will also involve the implementation of sanitary, veterinary-sanitary, quarantine phytosanitary measures, and consumer rights protection.

The Chairman of the EEC Board noted that the implementation of this plan will contribute to the activation of trade and economic ties between the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and Uzbekistan.

Abdulla Aripov, in turn, emphasized the significance of practical partnership with the EEC within the framework of multilateral industry interaction projects aimed at the strategic development of the EAEU.
