Uzbekistan U17 to Face South Korea in Quarterfinal

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan’s U17 national football team has learned its opponent for the quarterfinals of the AFC U17 Asian Cup taking place in Saudi Arabia. The team coached by Sergey Chigodayev will face the Republic of Korea.

Uzbekistan’s quarterfinal opponent was determined following the conclusion of Group C matches. South Korea drew 0–0 with Yemen, while Vietnam defeated the United Arab Emirates 3–2.

As a result, Vietnam finished top of the group with six points, while the Republic of Korea advanced to the playoffs from second place with five points.

The quarterfinal match between Uzbekistan and the Republic of Korea will take place on May 16. Kickoff is scheduled for 9:00 p.m. Tashkent time.
