Uzbekistan and Grapa Global Discuss Viticulture Development Projects
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan has held negotiations with Shachar Karmi’el, President of the US-based company Grapa Global, on expanding cooperation in viticulture and developing export-oriented agricultural production.
The discussions were conducted by Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Uzbekistan Kakhramon Yuldashev.
The parties considered opportunities for introducing modern agricultural technologies and implementing projects for the cultivation of seedless grape varieties in Uzbekistan.
Representatives of the American company proposed initiatives aimed at developing high-yield grape varieties that meet international export standards, as well as promoting them in foreign markets.
During the meeting, it was noted that Uzbekistan’s climatic conditions, high number of sunny days, and traditionally developed viticulture sector create a favorable basis for implementing such projects. It was emphasized that their introduction could contribute to increasing export potential, raising farm incomes, and creating new jobs in the agricultural sector.
The Deputy Minister stated that the Ministry of Agriculture is ready to support initiatives within its existing mandate and to create favorable conditions for attracting foreign investment into the sector.
Following the talks, the parties agreed to prepare concrete proposals on prospective areas of cooperation and to continue the phased development of joint projects in viticulture and agricultural technologies.
