Ferghana Region and Iran Discuss Expansion of Cooperation
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The governor of Uzbekistan’s Ferghana region, Khayrullo Bozorov, has held talks with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Uzbekistan, Mohammad Ali Eskandari, to discuss expanding trade, economic, and investment cooperation, as well as strengthening socio-cultural ties between the region and Iranian partners.
During the discussions, the parties noted the steady strengthening of friendly relations between Uzbekistan and Iran.
The sides exchanged views on accelerating the implementation of previously reached agreements between Ferghana region and Iran’s Mazandaran province, including the development of regional contacts and the expansion of economic relations.
Special attention was given to initiatives to organize regular online dialogues between the regions, establish a trading house, and increase reciprocal supplies of agricultural products. The parties also discussed support measures for entrepreneurs implementing investment projects in the city of Margilan.
Following the meeting, both sides agreed to continue consultations on expanding cooperation between Ferghana region and Iranian companies in promising areas of the economy and regional development.
