Two Killed in Multi-Vehicle Crash in Tashkent Region
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A serious road traffic accident occurred in the Tashkent region, involving a heavy-duty truck and several passenger vehicles, resulting in the deaths of two people.
According to the press service of the regional Department of Internal Affairs, the crash took place on 26 April at around 23:10 on the 93rd kilometer of the A-373 highway.
Preliminary information indicates that the driver of a HOWO truck lost control of the vehicle while in motion and collided with four vehicles traveling in the same direction.
As a result of the accident, the driver of a Chevrolet Cobalt and one passenger died at the scene. Four other individuals, who were in the involved vehicles, sustained injuries of varying severity and were hospitalized.
A criminal case has been opened under paragraph “a” of part 3 of Article 266 of the Criminal Code, which concerns violations of traffic safety or vehicle operation rules that result in human casualties.
Law enforcement authorities have urged drivers to avoid operating vehicles while fatigued and to strictly comply with traffic regulations.
