Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), together with the Supreme Court of the Republic of Uzbekistan, conducted a series of training courses for investigative judges aimed at strengthening professional competencies and practical skills in the field of human rights protection and fundamental freedoms.

The training sessions were held in the cities of Khiva and Samarkand. Judges from the Bukhara, Khorezm, and Samarkand regions, as well as the Republic of Karakalpakstan, took part in the program.

The events were organized by the OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Uzbekistan and focused on developing judges’ practical skills in applying international human rights standards, evaluating evidence, and delivering fair and well-reasoned judicial decisions.

The training program was delivered by international experts, including Judge Claudia Fenz. Participants examined practical case studies, engaged in interactive discussions, and exchanged professional experience. Special attention was given to the application of international standards within national judicial practice, as well as the study of best practices from other countries.

According to Claudia Fenz, participants demonstrated a high level of engagement and professional interest in the topics discussed. She emphasized that continuous judicial training plays a key role in ensuring legality, fairness, and strengthening public trust in the judicial system.

A particular focus of the training was placed on the protection of vulnerable groups and the prevention of violence, including violence against women and girls.

Practical exercises enabled participants to consolidate their knowledge through real-life scenarios and judicial practice.
