Andijan and Hainan Agree to Expand Cooperation Ties
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A delegation from Andijan region led by regional governor Shuhratbek Abdurakhmonov is on a working visit to the People’s Republic of China, during which talks were held with the leadership of Hainan province and representatives of the business community.
During the visit, a meeting took place with Hainan Governor Liu Xiaoming. The sides discussed the development of multifaceted strategic partnership between Andijan region and the Chinese province, as well as the expansion of bilateral cooperation.
Special attention was given to trade and economic ties, cooperation in agriculture, innovation, technology, transport and communication infrastructure, and tourism. The possibility of establishing direct flights between Hainan and Andijan was also discussed.
Separately, prospects for implementing joint projects within the “Silk Road” free economic zone and strengthening interregional cooperation in key areas were considered.
Following the negotiations, bilateral cooperation agreements were signed aimed at further developing the partnership between Andijan region and Hainan province.
