Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In the first half of this year, at the expense of the republican budget (930.8 billion soums), a total of 1,779.9 km of drinking water supply networks and 74.8 km of sewerage networks were built and reconstructed, 121 structures, construction and installation works have been completed at 69 facilities, Uzsuvtaminot said.

At the expense of international financial institutions (US$108.3 million), a total of 119.2 km of drinking water supply networks and 33.9 km of sewerage networks were constructed and reconstructed, 4 water distribution facilities were built and 5 were reconstructed.

In 2022, Uzsuvtaminot, in cooperation with international financial institutions, is implementing 20 projects. Financing of these projects at the expense of borrowed funds of the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, the Islamic Development Bank, the Saudi Development Fund and the OPEC Fund in the amount of US$1 billion 861 million is provided.

Until the end of this year, within the framework of funds in the amount of more than 2 trillion soums, it is planned to build and reconstruct 527 facilities, 5.5 thousand km of drinking water supply and sanitation networks, as well as at the expense of international financial institutions in the amount of 245.1 million dollars - to provide drinking water to 1.6 million citizens, improve drinking water supply 3 .4 million citizens and thus bring the level of centralized drinking water supply to 74.2%, coverage of sanitation services to 18%.
