Uzbekneftegaz: Members of the Working Group studied the state of production and the progress of the project for the reconstruction and modernization of the Bukhara Oil Refinery

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In order to study the performance of production indicators and the status of work on the implementation of the modernization project, the "Working Group" headed by the Chairman of the Board of Uzbekneftegaz got acquainted with the activities of the Bukhara Oil Refinery. Initially, the state of the performance of work on the reconstruction of the unloading - loading rack in the city of Karovulbazar was studied on site.

Issues related to expanding the capacity of the Bukhara Oil Refinery in terms of receiving, storing and shipping products were discussed. In turn, instructions were given on the installation of metal structures of the loading and unloading rack and an open pumping station at the site.

Based on the instructions of the Chairman of the Board of Uzbekneftegaz, the Bukhara Oil Refinery is currently working on the reconstruction of a loading and unloading rack with a total area of 15.75 hectares, on which inactive tanks have been dismantled and process pipelines are being installed.

In addition, construction and restoration work is being carried out on the tank farm, the infrastructure of the facility, the foam fire extinguishing system, and the laying of railway tracks. It should be noted that most of the work is carried out by the Bukhara Oil Refinery on its own.

The loading and unloading rack is designed to receive, store raw materials and ship finished products. At the same time, operations for draining or filling tanks and tankers can be carried out here.

To date, the implementation of the project to expand the tank farm at the Bukhara Oil Refinery has entered an active phase. A field meeting was held to discuss problematic issues related to the progress of work, where the Chairman of the Board of Uzbekneftegaz outlined solutions to speed up the delivery of facilities on time.

On behalf of the Chairman of the Board of Uzbekneftegaz, in order to accelerate the implementation of this project, an operational headquarters was formed, which involves over 250 specialists from the oil and gas industry. It should be noted that all work is carried out in compliance with the requirements of safety regulations and fire safety.

In turn, in order to fulfill the protocol order of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. 158 fro, 17 July 2022, the Chairman of the Board of Uzbekneftegaz Mekhriddin Abdullayev outlined the tasks to ensure a stable supply of quality products to consumers, increase the production of petroleum products and form the necessary reserves.

In particular, the Chairman of the Board was informed that the Bukhara Oil Refinery is working to involve synthetic GTL naphtha in the production of motor gasoline.

In January-July of this year, 900 thousand tons of hydrocarbon raw materials were processed at the Bukhara Oil Refinery, the plan was fulfilled by 3.2% surplus. As a result, 542.8 thousand tons of motor gasoline were produced during the reporting period; the plan was fulfilled by 8.8% surplus, 153.4 thousand tons of diesel fuel were produced, the plan was fulfilled by 9.2% surplus.

Most importantly, according to the results of the auctions of the Republican Commodity Exchange for January-July of the current year, the Bukhara oil refinery provided the consumers of the republic with 70-80% of all gasoline and 40-50% of diesel fuel.

In addition, the Bukhara Oil Refinery is increasing the production of motor gasoline by involving synthetic GTL naphtha produced at the Uzbekistan GTL plant in the processing of hydrocarbon raw materials.
