Uzbekistan, UNESCO discuss recognition of qualifications

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan’s Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation Kongratbay Sharipov held a meeting with Sara Noshadi, Head of the UNESCO Office in Uzbekistan, to discuss the development of international cooperation in education.

The talks focused on improving the quality of higher education, strengthening Uzbekistan’s integration into the global education system, and expanding cooperation with international partners.

Special attention was given to practical steps following Uzbekistan’s ratification of UNESCO’s Global Convention on the Recognition of Qualifications concerning Higher Education.

The sides agreed to further improve the system for recognizing foreign qualifications and to develop relevant institutional mechanisms at the national level.

They also discussed measures to introduce international best practices, establish a national information infrastructure, and strengthen institutional cooperation in the education sector.
