Uzbekistan Today said that the campaign will cover 3 million children at the age of up to 5.

Ministry of Health created a group, which coordinates the campaign. Some 5,000 healthcare institutions will provide vaccines to children. Over 5,000 medical workers will work in remote areas.

Dilorom Alieva, specialist of Ministry of Health, there has been no cases of polio since 1995 and Uzbekistan received a certificate. There is little chance for spread of polio, but it cannot be ruled out. Currently 98-99% of children are covered with national immunization calendar.
