Uzbekistan to construct 526 km of roads in 2013
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan is planning to carry out reconstruction and construction of about 526 km automobile roads, which are part of Uzbekistan national highway, Uzavtoyol state joint stock company said.

The limits directed to construction of roads were set with the presidential resolution “On investment programme for 2013” from 21 November 2012.

In line with the programme, off-budget Republican Road Fund under the Finance Ministry of Uzbekistan will issue 921.571 billion soums to road construction in 2013.

Nodir Husanov, head of department on construction and repair of roads, and perspective development of Uzavtoyol, said that some 526 km of roads, which are part of Uzbek highway, will be constructed and reconstructed in 2012.

He said that 440 km of roads will be constructed and 86 km of roads will be modernized to increase their durability to central load of 13 tonnes.

At the same time, some 170 km roads will be constructed in Karakalpakstan and Khorezm region, 115 km in Bukhara and Kashkadarya regions, and 71 km in Kamchik pass.

It is also planned to allocate 34.5 billion soums will be issued to modernize production and industrial capacities of enterprises of Uzavtoyol, of which 31.5 billion soums will be directed to purchase road construction equipment.
