Uzbekistan Suspends 102.5 Billion Soum Social Cashback
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan’s Tax Committee has temporarily suspended the payment of 102.5 billion soums in social cashback for April amid suspicions of the use of falsified cash register receipts.
According to the authorities, more than 200,000 individuals included in the Unified Social Protection Register have been placed on a list of suspicious buyers. The committee stated that these citizens attempted to receive VAT refunds based on receipts issued by companies identified as conducting questionable operations.
Inspections are being carried out within the framework of the social cashback system, which provides VAT refunds to citizens from the social registry instead of a standard 1% cashback. In total, the activity of 649 companies is currently under review. These companies processed a turnover of 36.8 trillion soums through online cash registers during 2025–2026.
The Tax Committee reported that 771,100 citizens have already received payments through the system, totaling 347.9 billion soums.
The agency also reminded citizens that only receipts for their own purchases and services should be registered through the Soliq mobile application. It urged the public not to use receipts distributed on social media or obtained from third parties.
