Uzbekistan repatriates 41 citizens from Iran via Turkmenistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan has organized the return of a group of citizens from Iran via transit through Turkmenistan, according to the Dunyo news agency.
The ministry reported that the embassies of Uzbekistan in Ashgabat and Tehran, in cooperation with relevant Turkmen authorities, promptly resolved issues related to visa processing and transportation of the citizens.
With the assistance of Turkmen authorities, 41 Uzbek citizens were received at the border checkpoints “Sarahs–Serakhs” and “Gowdan–Badjgyran.” Diplomatic staff ensured their сопровождение and safe return to their homeland.
The Foreign Ministry emphasized that the protection of citizens’ rights and interests remains a key priority of state policy. It noted that efforts to repatriate Uzbek citizens continue, while cooperation with partner countries demonstrates a high level of regional collaboration and mutual trust.
