Uzbekistan President Arrives in Turkestan for OTS Summit

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev arrived in the city of Turkestan on a working visit to participate in the informal summit of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS).

At the international Hazret Sultan Airport, the head of state was welcomed by State Counselor of the Republic of Kazakhstan Erlan Karin, Akim of Turkestan region Nuralhan Kusherov, and other officials.

During the visit, the President of Uzbekistan will take part in the activities of the informal OTS summit dedicated to issues of regional interaction and cooperation among Turkic states.

The program also includes a joint visit by heads of delegations to historical monuments and cultural sites in Turkestan, one of the key spiritual and historical centers of the Turkic world.
