Uzbekistan participates in INTERPOL Trigger X operation
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A delegation from the Republic of Uzbekistan participated in a pre-operational meeting and regional training under INTERPOL’s international operation “Trigger X – Europe and Central Asia,” aimed at combating the illicit trafficking of firearms and related forms of transnational crime.
The events were held from 11 to 15 May 2026 in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
According to information, the event was organized by the General Secretariat of the International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL) within the framework of the iARMS V project, with support from the European Union.
The meeting brought together representatives of law enforcement agencies and INTERPOL National Central Bureaus from countries across Europe and Central Asia, including a delegation from the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Uzbekistan was represented by officials from the National Central Bureau of INTERPOL under the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Main Forensic Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
During the pre-operational meeting, participants discussed current threats related to illicit firearms trafficking, as well as mechanisms for international cooperation and coordination of joint activities.
Within the regional training, INTERPOL General Secretariat experts conducted practical sessions on the use of the iARMS system, international firearms tracing, investigation of firearms-related crimes, and the application of international forensic tools.
At the conclusion of the event, the Uzbek delegation exchanged practical experience with international partners and familiarized itself with modern global approaches to combating illicit firearms trafficking.
