The corresponding trilateral protocol was signed following negotiations between the parties.
According to the agreement, the established reservoir operation regime will ensure water supply for farmers in the Maktaaral and Zhetysay districts of Kazakhstan’s Turkestan region during the summer period, when demand for irrigation resources traditionally increases.
The parties emphasized that ensuring irrigation water supply to southern regions remains under special control. The measures were described as the result of constructive cooperation and mutual support among Central Asian countries.
Following the meeting, representatives of the water management agencies confirmed their readiness to continue cooperation aimed at the rational and mutually beneficial use of regional water resources.
