Uzbekistan Opens Agricultural Trade House in Baku
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan has officially opened an Agricultural Trade House in Baku, Azerbaijan, during the international forum Caspian Agro Week 2026. The new facility is designed to promote Uzbek agricultural exports and expand the presence of national products in regional markets.
The opening ceremony was attended by Uzbekistan’s Minister of Agriculture Ibrokhim Abdurakhmonov, Uzbekistan’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan Bahrom Ashrafkhanov, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Agriculture Mecnun Mammadov, Turkey’s Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Ibrahim Yumakli, and Georgia’s Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture David Songulashvili. Representatives of participating countries jointly symbolically inaugurated the trade house as part of the forum.
The newly established trade house will serve as a platform to showcase Uzbekistan’s agro-industrial potential at the international level. It is also intended to expand export opportunities for national producers and strengthen trade and economic ties across the region.
Officials noted that the project reflects a broader course toward developing open and mutually beneficial cooperation between countries, aimed at deepening economic relations and reinforcing strategic partnerships.
It was additionally emphasized that the trade house will provide direct access for Uzbek agricultural products to the Azerbaijani market, simplify export procedures, and create new opportunities for producers to enter foreign markets.
