Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan Sign Agri-Insurance Deal
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan’s Minister of Agriculture Ibrahim Abdurakhmanov held talks in Baku with Azerbaijan’s Minister of Agriculture Majnun Mammadov on expanding agricultural cooperation and deepening practical interaction between the two countries.
During the meeting, the sides noted the steady development of bilateral relations and discussed expanding cooperation across various areas of the agricultural sector. Particular emphasis was placed on introducing scientific and innovative approaches in agriculture.
Special attention was also given to the international agricultural exhibition taking place in Baku, which brought together more than 400 companies from 45 countries. The parties noted that the scale of the event reflects the growing role of global platforms in the development of agricultural cooperation.
The Azerbaijani side expressed satisfaction with the active participation of the Uzbek delegation and industry representatives, highlighting the steady momentum in bilateral relations.
Priority areas of cooperation identified during the talks included the development of scientific ties, digitalization of agriculture, introduction of agricultural insurance mechanisms, and expansion of experience-sharing between профильных научных institutions.
Following the meeting, a cooperation agreement was signed between the Agricultural Insurance Fund of Uzbekistan and the Agricultural Insurance Fund of Azerbaijan.
The document is aimed at developing agricultural insurance systems, introducing advanced practices, exchanging knowledge, and strengthening the resilience of the agricultural sector in both countries.
