Uzbekistan PM Arrives in China for Official Visit

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbek Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov arrived in Beijing on Wednesday evening for a two-day official visit to China.

During the visit, the head of the Uzbek government will jointly chair the eighth meeting of the Intergovernmental Cooperation Committee with Chinese Vice Premier Liu Guozhong.

China has remained Uzbekistan’s largest trading partner for several consecutive years. According to data from the General Administration of Customs of China, bilateral trade in the first quarter of 2026 increased by more than 35% year-on-year and exceeded US$4.1 billion.

In recent years, cooperation between Uzbekistan and China has expanded actively across a broad range of sectors. Priority areas include new energy, high technologies, healthcare, smart agriculture, and the development of green minerals.

One of the largest joint projects remains the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway. The project is viewed as an important element in strengthening trade and economic ties in Central Asia and creating diversified transport infrastructure in the region.

At the same time, Tashkent and Beijing continue to expand cooperation in security and law enforcement while strengthening coordination on regional and international issues within the China-Central Asia framework and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
