Uzbekistan introduces fines for violation of taxis equipment
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan introduced fines for violation of requirement on equipment of taxies with single identification signs.

New sanctions were introduced with the law “On introduction of changes and amendments to some legislative acts of Uzbekistan”. President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov signed a law "On introduction of changes and amendments to some legislative acts of Uzbekistan" on 29 December 2012.

The law was passed by Legislative Chamber on 9 November 2012 and approved by Senate on 5 December 2012. It came into force on 4 January 2013.

The law introduced amendments to Code of Uzbekistan of administrative responsibility.

In line with the amendments, responsible persons will be fined from five to seven sizes of minimal salary for allowing use of taxies, which do not meet requirements of the legislation.

Taxi drivers, who do not use identification signs intentionally or used broken equipment, will be fined from one to three sizes of minimal salary.
