Uzbekistan exports goods and vegetables for US$770.6m in 2012

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan exported over 120 types of fruit and vegetable products for US$770.6 million in 2012, the material of the Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations, Investment and Trade of Uzbekistan (MFERIT), published in local newspaper Pravda Vostoka, said.

The article said that Uzbekistan pays great attention to consideration of exports of fruits and vegetables, assisting farmers and agriculture firms to export their goods.

Uzbekistan also wants to increase exports of agriculture products in 2012 through expansion of processing raw materials and exports of ready products.

Foreign trade turnover of Uzbekistan made up US$26.286 billion in January-December 2012, or fell by 0.9% year-on-year, the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan said.
