According to MFERIT, foreign trade turnover of Uzbekistan was US$805.6 million in 1990. State Statistics Committee said that this year, foreign trade turnover hit US$26.286 billion (+0.9% year-on-year).

The article said that balance of external trade exceeded US$1.12 billion. The exports of Uzbekistan grew by 11.6% and structure of export is improving.

The Ministry said that the country launched production of 95 new export oriented products for US$257.9 million in 2012. Production of new goods were launched in such industries as agriculture equipment, automobile, chemical and other industries.

In 2012, the country exported over 1,930 products. Overall, Uzbekistan sent its products to 179 countries of the world.

The article noted that Uzbekistan plans to increase exports of goods and services by 10-15% in 2013 due to development of basic industries of economy, small and private businesses, diversification of exports.

The Ministry said that creation of Fund on support and encouragement of exports will also help to boost exports of Uzbekistan.

It is planned to expand exports of ready goods, including Chevrolet Cobalt cars, engines, electronics, textile products, medical goods, construction materials, etc.
