Uzbekistan creates almost 1m new jobs in 2012
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Almost 1 million new jobs were created in Uzbekistan in 2012, President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov said at the session of the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan.

The session summed up results of social-economic development of Uzbekistan for 2012 and approved main perspectives of economic programme for 2013.

Uzbek President said that implementation of complex programme of measures in 2012 helped to create about 1 million new jobs, of which 62% fell to share of rural areas.

At the same time, about 485,000 new jobs were created due to development of small and private businesses, and 218,000 jobs – due to development of out-work, Uzbek leader said.

Islam Karimov said that creation of new jobs and employment of population will remain as main task of the government.

He said that the programme, approved by Oliy Majlis, envisages creation of 970,000 new jobs in 2013. About 500,000 new jobs will be created due to speeding up development of small and private businesses, as well as services.

Uzbek President said that there is great reserve for creation of out-work in Uzbekistan. He added that over 280,000 out-work jobs will be created in 2013.

Uzbekistan plans to create over 250,000 new jobs due to implementation of industrial programmes, modernization and re-equipment of enterprises, localization of goods production, deepen processing of agriculture goods.

He said that local administrations should pay attention to development of concrete programmes to solve this task and ensure their full execution.
