Uzbekistan Chamber of Commerce Signs Cooperation Deal in Hong Kong
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A delegation of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan held talks with the leadership of the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce (HKGCC) in Hong Kong’s central business district, where the parties signed a memorandum of cooperation.
The Uzbek delegation was led by Chamber Chairman Davron Vakhabov. Representatives of the “Uzeltelksanoat” association, the Jizzakh region and private banks also took part in the discussions. On the Hong Kong side, the meeting included HKGCC Chair Agnes Chan, representatives of InvestHK, and business community members.
The sides discussed green energy, investment attraction, industrial cooperation and the promotion of products to external markets.
Special attention was given to the economic potential of the Jizzakh region. The Uzbek side presented projects in automotive manufacturing, textiles and tourism. Hong Kong partners also showed interest in the Zaamin technopark and noted that 90% of the region’s investment portfolio is formed by Chinese companies.
The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan said the agreement with HKGCC is expected to support the growth of trade turnover and expand opportunities for Uzbek companies to enter international financial markets.
