Uzbekistan, Belarus discuss anti-corruption cooperation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A delegation from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus visited Uzbekistan on a working trip aimed at strengthening cooperation between the law enforcement agencies of the two countries. In recent years, bilateral interaction has developed on a regular basis and covers a wide range of practical areas.

During the visit, Oleg Laren, head of the Main Directorate for Internal Security of the Belarusian Interior Ministry, held talks with Uzbekistan’s Deputy Interior Minister Rustam Mirzaev.

The sides discussed the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation, with particular focus on staff training and the exchange of professional experience.

Special emphasis was placed on joint efforts to combat corruption-related crimes. Participants noted their mutual interest in further developing cooperation and expanding practical formats of interaction.

The talks were held in a constructive and friendly atmosphere. Following the meeting, the parties identified several promising areas for strengthening ties between the ministries.

As part of the visit, the Belarusian delegation also visited the Tashkent City Main Directorate of Internal Affairs. The guests were introduced to the situation center and shown achievements in the digitalization of the law enforcement system.

The delegation also reviewed the organization of tourist safety measures in the capital, which remains one of the priority areas of the city’s law enforcement activities.
