Uzbekistan aviation regulator denies Air Fergana launch

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Civil Aviation Agency of Uzbekistan, Uzaviatsiya, has stated that information about the launch of airline Air Fergana does not reflect its official status for operating commercial air transport services. The clarification was issued by the regulator in response to reports circulated by several media outlets.

The agency emphasized that Air Fergana has not yet obtained an Air Operator Certificate (AOC) or other mandatory permits required to conduct scheduled or non-scheduled commercial air transportation of passengers and cargo.

Uzaviatsiya reminded that the establishment and operation of an airline in Uzbekistan are only possible after completing a full certification process.

This process includes verification of compliance with flight safety requirements, inspection of aircraft maintenance systems, assessment of aviation personnel qualifications, and adherence to aviation security standards and international regulations.

The regulator noted that only after all legally required procedures have been completed and the relevant approvals obtained can an airline officially begin commercial operations.

Uzaviatsiya also stressed that official information regarding the certification and authorization of air carriers is published exclusively through the agency’s designated communication channels in accordance with established procedures.
