Uzbekistan and Voltalia Advance Renewable Energy Projects
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan held talks with French renewable energy company Voltalia on the sidelines of the Energy Week of Uzbekistan, focusing on the current status of joint renewable energy projects and measures to accelerate their implementation.
The discussions centered on a planned 100 MW wind power plant in the Bukhara region, which also includes the construction of a 100 MW / 200 MWh energy storage system. The parties also reviewed a separate project involving a 200 MW / 800 MWh energy storage facility in the Tashkent region.
Separately, the participants considered preparations for signing a relevant agreement during the Tashkent International Investment Forum.
The meeting also addressed progress on the launch of a 500 kW agrivoltaic solar power plant in the Tashkent region, scheduled to be commissioned in July of this year.
Following the talks, both sides agreed to continue strengthening cooperation and ensure the timely and effective implementation of all joint energy projects.
