Uzbekistan and Afghanistan Discuss Transit via Hairatan Port

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, Davron Vakhabov, held talks in Afghanistan during a working visit with Bismillah Bovari, head of the state company “ASTRAS” operating at the Hairatan port.

The discussions focused on organizing cargo transportation through the key border logistics hub, as well as accelerating transit procedures and improving conditions for entrepreneurs from both countries. Special attention was paid to simplifying import and export operations.

The sides also considered measures to improve the efficiency of port infrastructure management, optimize loading and unloading processes, and expand trade and economic cooperation between the business communities of Uzbekistan and Afghanistan.

Both parties emphasized the importance of further developing logistics channels and strengthening practical cooperation in transit and international trade.
