In particular, Uzbegenergo carried out works on expansion of Talimardjan thermal power station with construction of two combined-cycle plants with the capacity of 450 megawatt, construction of facility with the capacity of 130-150 megawatt, designed for use of coal at Angren thermal power station, construction of 500 kilovolt air-line from Syrdarya and Novo-Angren thermal power stations, introduction of automated system of controlling and accounting electricity, transfer 1-5 energy blochs of Novo-Angren thermal power station to use of coal.

At the same time, Uzbekenergo attracted US$239.13 million of loans of Fund for Reconstruction and Development of Uzbekistan to implement seven projects, including in organization of transformations production in Tashkent and production of electricity meters in Navoi free industrial-economic zone.

Seven objects have been constructed and commissioned on the 21st anniversary of Uzbekistan’s Independence Day.

In particular, Uzbekenergo completed implementation of project “Reconstruction of 220 kilovolt sub-sation Kuyu-Mazar with the capacity of transformer of 63,000 kilovolt. Launch of the object ensured reliable electricity supply to Bukhara region, including pump station of Ministry of Agriculture and Water Management. It also helped to improve water supply of Bukhara city and region.

The company also executed a project “Construction of 220 kilovolt high-voltage line sub-station Fozilman – substation Lochin (30 km), which allowed to improve electricity supply in Ferghana region without use of electricity lines of Kyrgyz Republic.

The project “Construction of 220 kilovolt high-voltage line Kizil-Ravot-substation Yulduz (30 km) was also completed. The project allowed to carry out repair schemes at separation of works of Uzbek and Kyrgyz energy systems, as well as improve electricity supply to consumers of Ferghana energy junction.

Uzbekenergo implemented a project “Reconstruction of 220 kilovolt high-voltage line Syrdarya thermal power station – substation Karakiyasay (71.8 km). The project allowed to move high-voltage line, which passed through Tajikistan territory, into territory of Uzbekistan and ensure reliable energy supply to Almalyk Mining and Metallurgy Combine and consumers in Tashkent region.

The company also completed a project “Construction of Ishtihom 220 kilovolt and 110 kilovolt high-voltage line substation Gornorudnaya” (second transformer with the capacity of 63,000 kilovolt-ampere and the length of the high-voltage line is 76.4 km). The object will ensure reliable electricity supply to Zarmitan open-pit mine and consumers in Samarkand region.

In June 2012, a plant on production of 0.4 kilovolt electricity transformers was launched. The plant was created with Chinese Holley Metering Limited. Equipment for some US$280,000 was imported from China. In 2012, it was planned to produce 5,600 transformers, but the plant currently manufactured 6,000 transformers.

The project “Construction of gas compression stations at Navoi thermal power station” was completed. The project allowed to supply gas under necessary pressure to Navoi thermal power station’s combined-cycle plant with the capacity of 478 megawatt.

In September, 220 kilovolt high-voltage line substation Choponota – Sogdiana-Bobur has been commissioned in Jambay district in Samarkand region. The object will ensure reliable energy supply to MAN plant and objects of Uzbekistan Temir Yollari (high-speed train “Afrosiyob”).

In October, combined-cycle plant with the capacity of 478 megawatt has been commissioned in Navoi thermal power station. Uzbekenergo specialists are increasing capacity of the facility stage-by-stage. After combined-cycle plant will reach its full capacity, consumers in Samarkand and Bukhara regions and produce additional 1.7 billion kilowatt-hour of electricity. This will allow to save 359 million cubic meters of gas a year.

Uzbekenergo is planning to complete construction of four more projects in December 2012. In particular, it is planned to commission pilot wind power facility in Tashkent region with the capacity of 750 kilowatt. It will allow to supply electricity to over 1,000 houses. Launch of substation Fazilmon will allow to supply reliable electricity supply to consumers in Ferghana region.

According to the presidential resolution “On programme on construction of individual habitation on standard projects in rural areas”, the company constructs electricity supply objects. In eleven months of 2012, the company used 14.8 billion soums to construction of electricity supply objects. It installed 176 sets of transformer points and constructed 04-10 kilovolt of electricity lines with the length of 144 km.

Uzbekenergo said that population and industrial enterprises consume largest volume of electricity in Uzbekistan. Some 39.2% of produced electricity supplied to industrial enterprises, 27.3% - to population and 23.1% - to agriculture industry and other part to communal, transport and construction organizations.
