Uzbek DPM holds meeting with representatives of the Japanese International Cooperation Agency JICA

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 29 August, Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction Jamshid Kuchkarov met with representatives of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) headed by Senior Vice President, Member of the Board of Directors Keiichiro Nakazawa.

The meeting was also attended by First Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction Ilkhom Norkulov, Deputy Minister of Finance Odilbek Isakov, Deputy Ministers of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction Adiz Boboev and Mirzohid Ubaidullayev, as well as by the guests, Senior Representative of JICA in Uzbekistan Miyazaki Suguru and his employee Omori Shun.

The priority issues on the agenda of the meeting were to discuss the prospects for further mutually beneficial cooperation, in particular, in the privatization and transformation of state assets, the transition to a green economy, labor migration and a number of other areas.

At the beginning of the meeting, the sides exchanged views on the ongoing joint projects in Uzbekistan, as well as their main indicators.

Also at the meeting, special attention was paid to the importance of developing and implementing master plans for the integrated development of the country’s regions. In addition, the work on the PPP project on privatization and projects on transformation and privatization of state banks were discussed.

By the end of the meeting, the parties agreed to to further expand the cooperation in the above areas.
