Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan reports that as yet unidentified persons, who carried out land work without appropriate approval, damaged the main line of the gas pipeline owned by Uztrangaz JSC in Namangan region. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan.

This pipeline provided fuel for the Turakurgan TPP. The incident led to a forced emergency shutdown of the Turakurgan power plant.

Currently, all measures are being taken to troubleshoot, as well as connect backup capacities for power supply.

Taking into account the need for a certain time to carry out work on connecting backup units at other power plants, there may be isolated cases of power outages in the regions.

The matter is under investigation. The Ministry apologizes for the temporary inconvenience.
