Recognizing that no empowerment initiative can yield sufficient results without adequate capacity, the Project has planned a wide range of activities aimed at equipping the beneficiaries with basic skills and knowledge.

Among such activities are: organization of training series on various personal and professional development topics in all the regions of Uzbekistan as well as promoting discussions and debates techniques aimed at enhancing critical thinking and persuasion skills.

In this context, cooperation of the Project with national partners such as Academy of State Governance (ASG) is vital for promoting trainings and capacity building exercises for economic and social development in Uzbekistan. The current debates training is the first joint event organized with ASG under the support of the Project.

During the five days sixteen participants of the Academy will be trained by debate trainers with local and international experience in obtaining public speaking and effective presentation skills.

Training participants will obtain skills of effective listening, motion analysis, constructive argumentation, team formation, motivation and many others.

The five days of the training will be dedicated to the team based debates aimed at strengthening theoretical knowledge and practical skills of the participants.

According to the initial plan of supporting countrywide discussion and debates the Project has also started first successful cooperation with the Center of Youth Initiatives “Kelajak Ovozi” supporting the VI Republican Discussion Forum “Dilemma” aimed at promoting techniques and culture of discussions.

Seeking for cooperation with local partners Project intends to promote diverse debates and discussion formats interesting for different age groups in the regions, universities, colleges, schools and diverse public organizations in Uzbekistan.
