Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 19 August 2022, a meeting was held between the leadership of the Uztekstilprom Association and a representative of the UN Global Compact in Uzbekistan.

The UN Global Compact is a UN program consisting of more than 16,000 companies and 3,000 non-profit organizations in 160 countries aimed at developing the social responsibility of business, which calls for compliance with ten rules in the field of human rights, labor relations, environmental protection and combat with corruption.

The Uztekstilprom Association applied for membership in the program on 20 July 2022.

During the meeting, the advantages for the participants of the UN Global Compact were discussed:

Improves the reputation of the company - a member of international brands, which subsequently serves to expand exports and enter new markets;

Positively affects freer access to the resources of International financial institutions (attracting investors and positive creditworthiness);

Developing the knowledge and skills of employees of participating companies through participation in organized trainings, as well as programs specially designed for companies.

As a result of the meeting, we agreed to attract enterprises - members of the Association to the UN Global Compact, as well as to conduct training seminars for enterprises by the end of the year.
