The event was organized by Tashkent State Oriental Institute in cooperation with the Cambridge University (Great Britain) within the international grant programme of British Council INSPIRE.

The conference is aimed at exchanging opinion on problems of development and rehabilitation of Great Silk Road, developing models of modern cooperation.

The conference participants will consider history of Great Silk Road, social-cultural factors of Great Silk Road development, etc.

Over 120 scholars from Great Britain, China, India, Korea, Kazakhstan and Russia participated at the event. Young Uzbek scientists also presented their reports on modern development of Great Silk Road.

After the event, it is planned to publish all materials of the conference into one book.
