Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekneftegaz Jand the German company ONS Frankfurt GmbH signed a contract for the purchase of 1 unit. a new gas turbine engine brand "Taurus 70" for the compressor station "Somontepa". 

The cost of this gas turbine engine is US$4.29 million and was produced by the American company Solar Turbines.

The working group, consisting of specialists from Uzbekneftegaz JSC and the Mubarek Oil and Gas Production Department, arrived in the city of Prague (Czech Republic) to participate in the testing of the Taurus 70 gas turbine engine, carried out on a special test bench.

Members of the working group got acquainted with the activities of the repair bases of Solar Turbines, studied the technically complex processes of checking, calculating, assembling, adjusting and testing gas turbine engines during their assembly, and also exchanged experience with foreign partners.

The preparatory work of the engine for the test process and the technical condition of the test bench were carefully studied, and during the tests a strict requirement was established that the technical parameters of the engine comply with the manufacturer’s instructions.

`The main objective of this compressor station is to achieve rapid and efficient production of low-pressure natural gas from the Somontepa gas field, as well as a significant increase in natural gas production indicators set by the Mubarek Oil and Gas Production Department. Stopping one gas pumping unit at the station will lead to a reduction in natural gas production by about 1 million cubic meters per day.
