Shavkat Mirziyoyev appoints new presidential energy advisor

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has appointed Behzod Normatov as an advisor to the head of state on fuel and energy issues.

The appointment was formalized by a presidential decree of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Prior to his new role, Normatov headed the project office division responsible for accelerating reforms in the oil and gas sector within the Presidential Administration.

In December 2025, Alesher Sultanov was relieved of his post as the President’s representative on energy security issues by presidential decree.
