Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 20 April 2025, during a professional boxing event in Oceanside, California, USA, Uzbek boxer Ruslan Abdullaev claimed a decisive victory over Filipino fighter Gino Rodrigo, knocking him down and securing the WBA Continental champion title.

Abdullaev, a continental and world amateur champion, as well as Uzbekistan’s Best Boxer of 2021 according to the Rufat Riskiev Cup, showcased impressive skill throughout the eight-round bout.

He dominated the fight from start to finish and knocked his opponent down in the fifth round.

All three judges unanimously awarded the victory to Abdullaev, scoring the fight 80-71, 80-71, 80-71. This triumph marks the second win of his professional career.
