Race for the Cure takes place in Termez
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 8 April, thousands of people joined the Race for the Cure and attended ‘In the Name of Life’ fundraising football matches in Termez, Surkhandarya region.

The events are part of the series of Susan G. Komen Uzbekistan Races for the Cure across the country and “In the Name of Life” football matches organized by Fund Forum, NBCAU and the Women’s Council.

According to the organizers, about 1,700 people joined the Race for the Cure in Termez, who run 1 km. Among them were doctors, athletes, entrepreneurs, students, teachers, public figures, children and their parents. The winners of the race were saluted with diplomas and prizes.

The participants visited Surkhandarya regional cancer dispenser and singers Hosila Rakhimova and Shakhnoz gave a charity concert for patients.

Over 10,000 came to Surkhon Stadium to watch ‘In the Name of Life’ fundraising football match, which was held between Uzbek celebrities and members of Kelajak Ovozi Center. The match ended with a 1-0 victory of Kelajak Ovozi.

This year’s series of fundraisers will conclude with a major race in Tashkent on 28 April. Three days earlier, Tashkent will host ‘In the Name of Life’ fundraising football match between Uzbek celebrities and Kelajak Ovozi members.
