Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In preparation for the upcoming State visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Jamshid Khodjaev held talks with the Minister of Environment, Water Resources and agriculture KSA Abdulrahman al-Fadli.

The focus is on the current agenda and prospects for expanding cooperation in the field of agriculture.

The Uzbek side presented specific areas in which it is planned to attract the experience of Saudi partners. In particular, they discussed projects to introduce innovations and improve education in the agricultural sector. Thus, in order to enhance the interaction of research institutes in all segments, an agreement was reached on establishing cooperation between the Center for Agricultural Knowledge and Innovation of Uzbekistan (AKIS) and the National Research Center for Sustainable Agriculture of Saudi Arabia.

Following the talks, the parties agreed to join forces in attracting Saudi companies to develop joint projects with Uzbekistan, which will undoubtedly open up a good opportunity for the production of high-quality agricultural products in Uzbekistan and its subsequent export to Saudi Arabia.
