President: Service sector develops with high tempo in 2012

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Service sector developed with high tempo in 2012. The volume of rendered services grew by 15% and its share in GDP of Uzbekistan reached 52%, President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov said at the session of the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan.

The session summed up results of social-economic development of Uzbekistan for 2012 and approved main perspectives of economic programme for 2013.

Uzbek President said that that high technologic and market services such as communication and information (24.5%), computer programming (18%), repair and service technologic equipment (17%), financial and banking service – 17.6%.

He said that at the same time, there are unused reserves and opportunities to development of services in Uzbekistan, especially in rural areas. He said that Uzbekistan should focus on these.
