President Mirziyoyev Congratulates 472,000 School Graduates Across Uzbekistan on “Last Bell”
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has addressed a congratulatory message to graduates of secondary schools across the country on the occasion of the “Last Bell” ceremony. This year, 472,000 young men and women are completing school.
“We see in you the creative force that will make the New Uzbekistan known around the world,” the President said in his message.
Record achievements
The President noted that in 2026, more than 11,000 graduates have completed school with gold and silver medals for the first time. In addition, 171 graduates have been admitted to leading foreign universities, while thousands more have entered domestic higher education institutions.
Mirziyoyev expressed confidence that these high-achieving graduates will serve as an example for their peers and contribute meaningfully to the country’s development in the future.
Youth support measures
The message outlined a wide range of opportunities provided by the state for graduates. Banks are expected to allocate a total of 25 trillion soums in preferential loans for young people wishing to start businesses this year.
A total of US$100 million has been allocated for startup projects initiated by graduates. Major IT companies are ready to train at least 50,000 graduates annually in artificial intelligence technologies and provide them with high-paying employment.
For those interested in agriculture, 168,000 hectares of super-intensive orchards will be created in the coming years.
Graduates also have access to 207 universities and 643 technical colleges across the country.
Focus on knowledge and skills
The President urged graduates to adapt to rapidly changing labor market demands, stressing that employers today value real skills and competencies rather than formal diplomas. He recommended that every graduate learn at least one foreign language and one modern profession.
In his address, the President also referred to the achievements of young Uzbeks on the world stage, including chess players Javokhir Sindarov and Nodirbek Abdusattorov, footballer Abdukodir Khusanov, and young filmmakers awarded at the Cannes in the framework of an inclusive film festival.
The President described today’s graduates as builders of the Third Renaissance and expressed confidence that among them are future national heroes. “Set big goals. Believe in yourselves and move forward with confidence,” he concluded.
