Namangan and Iran Discuss Expansion of Economic Cooperation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A meeting was held between the Hokim of Namangan region Shavkatjon Abdurazzakov and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Uzbekistan Muhammad Ali Eskandari on the sidelines of the 65th International Flower Festival.

During the talks, the sides discussed the further expansion of bilateral trade and economic cooperation and the strengthening of interregional ties.

Particular attention was given to cooperation in sectors such as industry, fisheries, the textile sector, pharmaceutical production, as well as the cultivation and export of agricultural products.

The parties also considered opportunities for establishing direct trade links with entrepreneurs from the city of Rasht in Gilan province (Iran) and for entering the Iranian market with locally produced goods, particularly textiles.

Following the meeting, both sides emphasized that the discussions would contribute to the further development of economic relations between the regions of the two countries and agreed to continue practical cooperation.
