Over 7,000 people participate Race for the Cure in Navoi
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- As many as 7,000 people joined Race for the Cure in Navoi city, with another 3,000 flanking the route and cheering on the runners.

The race is the part of series of marathons, which is directed at raising funds for the benefit of women living with breast cancer in Uzbekistan.

The marathon is organized by “In the Name of Life” National Breast Cancer Association, Fund Forum, and the Women’s Council in partnership with Susan G. Komen for the Cure, the largest breast cancer charity in the US.

The organizers handed over diplomas and gifts to the winners of the first three places. The participants run 1 km.

The marathon also included a football match between stars of cinema and music with the members of the Center for Youth Initiative “Kelajak Ovozi”. The stars won the match with the score 2-0.

The main goal of the marathon is to inform Uzbek women on importance of diagnosis for breast cancer. All raised funds will be directed to treat women with breast cancer and purchase of medicaments.
