Mirziyoyev and Erdoğan Discuss Strengthening Strategic Partnership
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held talks with President of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in the city of Turkestan on the sidelines of the informal summit of the Organization of Turkic States, where the sides reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening the strategic partnership between the two countries.
During the talks, it was noted that the Uzbek leader’s visit to Ankara in January marked an important milestone that elevated relations between Uzbekistan and Türkiye to the level of a comprehensive strategic partnership and laid the foundation for deeper practical cooperation.
The sides emphasized that, following previously reached agreements, a more systematic model of interagency cooperation has been established, ensuring intensified contacts between ministries and agencies and improving the efficiency of joint projects.
Special attention was paid to the dynamics of economic relations. The growth of mutual trade, the increase in the number of joint ventures, and the expansion of air connectivity between Uzbekistan and Türkiye were highlighted as indicators of steady development in business activity.
It was also noted that a substantial portfolio of investment and cooperation projects involving Turkish companies has been formed and is being consistently implemented across various sectors of the economy.
The leaders exchanged views on pressing international and regional issues, reaffirming their interest in continuing close political dialogue and expanding practical cooperation within the framework of Turkic cooperation.
